Born and raised in Winston-Salem's Sherwood Forest community, Lloyd graduated from Mount Tabor High School in 1986. In 1990, he graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BS degree from UNC's Kenan-Flagler Undergraduate Business School. Upon graduation from UNC, he joined Pulte Home Corporation's Carolinas division (based in Cary, NC) as an assistant market analyst in their Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh, Richmond, VA and Columbia, SC markets.

Lloyd started with Prudential Carolinas Realty in 1992 as an assistant to Ida Rose Dillon, helping her achieve the status as top producer for Prudential in both North and South Carolina in 1994. That same year, he obtained his salesman's license and has been working for Prudential full-time since 2000. Selling over $15,000,000 of real estate in 2006, he was ranked as the #2 agent at Prudential's Knollwood office. Even in 2008's most challenging market, Lloyd achieved the prestigious Leading Edge Society award - ranking him in the top 7% of Prudential Real Estate Affiliates nationally.

While specializing in new construction and resales in newer neighborhoods, Lloyd always maintains a diversified collection of listings that may additionally include older, historic properties and large acreage tracts. In addition to listing and selling in the established communities of Buena Vista, Ardmore and Sherwood Forest, he currently represents top area builders in Bermuda Run West, Brookberry Farm, Stonecroft, Woodmont and Salem Glen.
